Just Had To Share This

I just had to share this with you guys. I was the lucky recipient of another one of those cool boxes of stuff from my sister. She lives in Portland, Oregon. And from the things she can buy there, that place must be as close to heaven as you can get.

First off is a box of handmade chocolates from a Chocolatier. We don't have any chocolatiers here in Raccoon City. All we have is Walmart. And don't you know that just sucks. The big thing in the upper right hand corner was a big marshmallow dipped in chocolate. The one in the front center was a Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Cookie also dipped in chocolate. Those were awesome. Saving the rest for later.

Scored a couple more dragons for my walls. Some large, some small. The medium sized one there is a Christmas tree ornament and made out of crepe paper. I'm going to have to build some more shelves!

This paper thing says it will make one of the pictured spheres and that it will take me about four hours to do. I suspect she's trying to kill me. Or drive me crazy. Or maybe both.

Got a handful of some neat rocks that are going to find their way into my fountain right by my reading chair. It's kind of peaceful to listen to while I read, but it does make me need to pee.

This is actually a pen, believe it or not. A little cheerleader and when you push on the thing on her back, she shakes her pom-poms. Hmm... I should have tried that when I was in school.....

Scored some bacony stuff and some Halloween stuff. Sweet! One can never have too much bacony stuff in ones life!

A couple of fairies (watch it!) some guy swinging something strange on a stick (he must be from California) and some of the smallest little critters I have ever seen. I tossed down a quarter there for size comparison.

And finally, the tribal design skull. This thing is so cool. If I weren't already doing my office in steampunk I would do it all in skulls. Hmm... Maybe I can find a cool way to combine the two...

Anyway, I just wanted to brag a bit and show you what a cool sister I have and what a lucky dawg I am. Since I rarely get visitors this is about the only place I have to show off my toys.

And I do love my toys.....

  1. Those are wicked cool Rev! I will trade you a severed clown foot for the skull! Still has the squeaky red sneeker on it! Yeah I wouldn't trade either.

  3. Lucky you...was there a special occasion? Or was this a wonderful random act of "I'm thinking of you bro' and wanted you to know"? What a very special sister you've got there Rev!

I'm a wee bit jealous - I have nothing cool to trade like FlyinMonkey, but I sure like the tribal skull too - big fan of skulls. I like your idea of trying to work it into your current office decor/design.

You know what Rev, it was really cool reading the excitement in your words, I hope your sister reads your blog and feels the smile that comes through this post.

Have fun with all your treats and treasures.

    Cheers, Jenny

  7. My mom used to know this women who had a business making chocalate treats that looked like other things. One Easter she got me a hamburger & fries that were made out of chocolate. The hamburger had peanut butter filling, and the Fries were white chocolate. They even had the brown burn marks on them. It was awesome. I would love to have something like that again, but I've never seen it anywhere since.

  8. @ Bryan...yum, your comment was almost edible!

I think that is so cool, fries and a burger out of chocolate. I'm going to have a look around my neck of the woods to see if I can find something like that.

I just bought Halloween candies, in anticipation of the three kids that come by...cheap chocolate just doesn't do it...particularly after Rev's box, at the top, and now your comment.

  9. OMG! That chocolate looks fabulous! I hear you about Walmart. It's what passes for a night out around here! That is, after dinner at Taco Bell. I would love to visit Oregon. It sounds so awesome. They have a donut shop somewhere out there that has a maple and bacon donut that I've been dying to try! Bacon makes me so happy!

  10. Those dragons are cool. I'm trying to figure out exactly what the bacon stuff is, all packaged up like it's been sitting on a shelf at Party City for a decade. It that supposed to be edible?

  11. FlyinMonkey- It's tempting, but no. Sorry. I've wanted that tribal skull forever.

Jenny- I was trying to keep it on the down low, but it was a birthday box. And she is pretty cool, for a sister.

Joe- I always love getting boxes from home.

Guy- It's a good thing in disguise. I'm on a diet. Trying to shed a few pounds before winter sets in.

Scott- Bacon is goodness wrapped in awesomeness!

Bryan- If you have chocolatiers in your town consider yourself lucky. Those people are awesome!

Jenny- The kids will eat anything. We have more refined tastes, right? (grin)

Lolamouse- I can't wait to get back to real civilization again.

Brent- The big one is a bacon wallet. Just printed to look like bacon. And the smaller one is a bacon scented air freshener! Is that cool or what?

  12. Okay...since it's a down low thing...
I'm whispering this and I'm a little off key as well...

    H B 2 U
    H B 2 U
H B dear Re-ev (have to drag out the "v" a little there)
    H B 2 U

I hope that was quiet enough - wouldn't want to wake the other commenters and get a whole party going - although it'd be a blast I reckon!
Then for sure you'd have to share those chocolate treats - and even the bacon!

    Cheers, Jenny

  13. Lolamouse, that's Voodoo donuts. I'd send Rev a box if I could figure out how to get it there before they went nasty stale. You see people carrying boxes from them onto planes all the time at the Portland airport.
